A single X-Roads device can make your web, email and e-commerce servers appear on multiple ISP's with multiple IP addresses. It automatically ensures incoming connections from one particular ISP of many, stay with that ISP, preventing asynchronous routing issues that can exist with other solutions. It also controls your DNS so that visitors aren't informed of IP unreachable IP addresses.
The end result is that when someone looks up your website's IP address or mail servers IP address, they are directed the IP addresses you have assigned for those servers. If one of your ISP connections fails, visitors are only told about the IP addresses that are online.
For you and your users, the end result is that you can now bring in a cable or high-speed DSL solution, and transparently add them into your existing network setup End users get faster downloads and more reliable Internet connectivity.
Two or more X-Roads devices can be used to create reliable, load balanced, redundant VPN tunnels between your office locations.
If you're currently using point-to-point or frame-relay T1 solutions, then you know that monthly bills for "loop and service" can get out of hand, forcing you to sign into long-term contracts with not alternative. Management traffic is secured using HTTPS and SSH protocols. Built-in Load Balancing offers the ability to prioritize VOIP or time-sensitive protocols over your ISP or VPN connections.
